Inky ~ June 2009 Update

Kristen and Nicole,

Hi girls it’s me Inky. Well it’s been just over 6 weeks in my new forever home and I thought I would drop a line to let you know how things have been. Life here has been very good to me! I have 2 step cat sisters and 2 doggy stepsisters that are just awesome to me. My cast sisters are still not real sure of me, the younger one just looks at me and then walks away (sometimes she makes noises first) and the older one is pretty neat. She has taught me how to box. My mom and dad laugh at us. I’m not sure why but I guess we look a little funny when we do it.

My doggy sisters are really neat. My new parents say I have done a world of good for them. I am not sure what that means but I take the compliment and run with it. They tell me my Coonhound sister is sick but I don’t see that. When I first came here she was a big couch potato, I tried to get her to play with me but she just wouldn’t do it. Now when I am playing ball with my new best friend (my human brother) she runs after the ball and tries to get it before me. Sometimes she gets to it but I win most of the time. We have our little squabbles but mom says it just sibling rivalry. Not sure what that means but I like her anyways.

My Bagel sister is pretty neat too. She plays with me the most. Mom says I helped her come out of her shell. Not sure what the shell is. She doesn’t look like a turtle to me. We mostly play in the yard. My folks say they haven’t seen her run like that since they brought her home. At first she was kind of slow but she is quickly learning.

We have lots of toys in the house to play with and almost as many in the yard too. I have my very own chair when I am outside and get tired of playing. I just hop right in and take a long nap. Well not that long because there is always something interesting going on here and I just need to bark! I even have my very own pool to play in on hot days. It is for all of us but my sisters aren’t real keen on going in. But my human brother throws balls in for me so I go in after them. He even comes in the water and sits and plays with me! It’s great on those hot days!

My human brother is really neat. He calls me his best friend. I am not sure what that means either but I like the attention. We do a lot together! He is teaching me to play soccer. I don’t understand the game but I like blocking the ball. We play fetch and tag and sometimes we play chase. He also likes to give me treats which I love the most!

My parents are neat people too! They like to play with me a lot. When my sisters are tired and don’t want to play and my brother is sleeping (but I am not quite tired yet) they are always willing to play with me. Mom bought me a new bed. Sometimes I use it but my favorite place to sleep is on dads pillow next to moms head.

So I just wanted you guys to know that I am ok and doing great. Thank you for rescuing me from that awful shelter and finding me an awesome family to live with. I really like it here and am doing very well. Can’t ask for more then what I have. I get lots of hugs, kisses and belly rubs which are my favorites!!

Hugs and Kisses

Inky
