I thought I would give you an update on Nico since we have had him for over 2 months now. The time really flew by. He is doing very very well and has adjusted to his new home. I think he finally realizes that he is with us forever now. He is a really great dog, I think we got really lucky. He still gets into a little mischief, but everyone always compliments him on his good behavior. In fact he was the first dog that my Grandma has invited into her home in a long time and he now has a standing invitation.
We started obedience class a few weeks ago with him at PetSmart. He is picking up on things pretty quickly. I think he's the teacher's pet, the trainer always uses him as her example. We're hoping to continue on to more advanced levels. The class is actually a lot of fun.
Nico absolutely loves going to the dog park to play. He thinks he's about 80 lbs. and wants to wrestle and chase every dog. He plays best with big dogs. We're currently working on getting him to play nicer with small dogs. But that shouldn't take too long. I can't wait to take him to the dog beach once it gets warmer out. It will be interesting to see if he likes the water. He actually doesn't hate baths, nor does he particularly like them. He'll get in the tub on his own, but then he wants it to be done in about 5 seconds.
