Marney (now Sweetpea)
Hi,
I woke up this morning to look into the sleeping face of this sweet little dog, lying next to me. What a way to start the day! Sweetpea wakes up slowly, her eyes open and close, she stretches, she yawns, she loves to be petted and stroked as much as I love to pet and stroke her.
Once awake, I find my shoes and jacket and first cup of coffee and we are outside in the back yard. I've been keeping her on a leash, as I discovered a place between the standing pole and back gate door that she might squeeze through, so until I get it fixed, we will be connected to the leash.
Her favorite spot in her new home is on the top of the sofa, looking out the bay windows. She gets really excited when another dog walks by. Her bark is part bark, part howl and part squeeky toy, depending on how excited she is.
Last night, my girlfriend came over and spent an hour, just sitting on the sofa, petting, stroking and talking baby talk to her. Another human won over!!!! I've done the same each night.
She got a taste or two of McDonald's pancakes this morning and some rice with her mixture of Innova dry food and Innova canned food. She eats everything in her bowl.
She is everything each of you told me she was, and then some. I had a thought yesterday, I wouldn't be surprised if my Fred's spirit picked Sweetpea out for me, I like the thought.
She lies next to me when I am on the computer, and of course, I stop typing, repeatedly, to just look into her beautiful brown eyes and pet her and tell her what a little angel she is.
