VOLUNTEERS: ALIVE RESCUE'S HEART AND SOUL

ALIVE is a primarily volunteer-run organization (fewer than five paid employees). Without our volunteers, we couldn't continue saving more innocent lives.

Do you have extra time to help us with our goals?

There are many different volunteer opportunities available based on what you can and/or like to do. This includes:

HOW TO GET STARTED

1

2

We review your application.

3

A Volunteer Coordinator will email you.

4

We invite you to join our ALIVE volunteer-only Facebook group so you can communicate and "meet" the team.

5

You help save lives!

You only need to complete volunteer orientation if you intend to volunteer at the Adoption Center (see below)

ADOPTION CENTER

The Adoption Center is where we showcase our adoptable dogs and welcome the public to visit during our open house events. The Adoption Center is open for volunteer shifts from 9am - 12pm and 6pm - 9pm every day. Shifts are led by our Adoption Center Leaders with help of our Adoption Center Assistants. We are always in need of volunteers to help with providing day-to-day care for our residents.

Volunteers assist with a range of hands-on tasks including walking, feeding, basic training and enrichment, playtime, cleaning, processing donations and, most importantly, snuggle time.

To ensure the safety of our volunteers and animals, all Adoption Center volunteers must be 21 years or older and participate in an orientation prior to signing up for a shift.

ADOPTION EVENTS

Handle and/or transport an ALIVE Rescue dog to showcase him/her at an adoption event around the city.

TRANSPORTATION
You will be transporting animals to and from foster homes and boarding facilities to the veterinarian and to adoption events; our biggest need for transportation help is during the daytime/weekday hours. Note: you must own your own vehicle and be willing to provide ALIVE Rescue with a copy of your auto insurance.

WEB
Help maintain and improve ALIVE’s website. This role would be responsible for obtaining and updating content on a regular basis, as well as troubleshooting any issues. In particular, we are looking for people with a technical/developer background.

EVENT PLANNING
Duties include event planning, once a month meetings, phone solicitations and coordination with vendors and donors, transportation of goods, event set up, assembling goodie bags, flyer distribution, silent auction solicitation and much more.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY

Take photos/videos of adoptable animals for our database and capture activities at our fundraisers and events.

GRAPHIC DESIGN
Help us design our marketing materials, ranging anywhere from brochures to signage to apparel.

GRANTS
The grant team researches grant opportunities, helps to develop program goals and writes grants. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to expand one’s professional writing skills or looking to dig into some research.
